The Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC) drives inclusive economic prosperity in under resourced communities through innovative research and programs to create jobs, income, and wealth for local residents. As the Senior Director at ICIC, Sonia manages the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses (10KSB) and Santander’s Cultivate Small Business programs. Presenting with Ms. Moin will be Dr. Lorena Chambers. A graduate of the 10KSB, Dr. Chambers is the only Latina — and one of only two women — to have produced broadcast commercials for a U.S. presidential campaign.
Global Entrepreneur Week
In 2021, Global Entrepreneurship Week will be held November 8-14. Anne Jones and Carrie White at West Virginia University are looking to put together a state team to promote activities in the Mountain State.
West Virginia Women’s Business Center Update
Nora T. Myers ([email protected]) provided an update on progress at the Women’s Business Center. The center is now fully operational with centers in Charleston and Fairmont.

The WV BusinessLink Soft launch will occur during the August 2021 WV Entrepreneurship Ecosystem meeting.
