Center for Business and Economic Research
About
The Center for Business and Economic Research (CBER) at Marshall University provides objective, transparent, and multidisciplinary analysis to inform strategic decision-making. CBER staff have the experience to better equip our clients with access to resources, training, and ultimately the knowledge to carry out their missions more effectively.
CBER was established in 1994 to enhance regional economic development endeavors. CBER began by providing services to the business community by leveraging expertise within the College of Business. In 1998, CBER merged with the Applied Research Division at Marshall University, adding additional researchers and expertise. In 2004, CBER became a subsidiary of the Marshall University Research Corporation (MURC). CBER became a part of the Appalachian Transportation Institute (ATI) in 2011 due to their complementary missions to enhance regional economic development. CBER has developed a strong reputation by providing independent analysis and quality research to aid clients with economic and policy choices for nearly two decades.
