About
The FASTER WV program provides one on one business coaching, entrepreneurial training, and access to a loan fund for new and expanding businesses located in Boone, Braxton, Cabell, Clay, Kanawha, Lincoln, Putnam, and Wayne Counties. Our business coaches are the first point of contact. Clients located in Boone, Braxton, Clay, Kanawha, Lincoln and Putnam counties will work with the FASTER WV coach at the WV Small Business Development Center; and businesses located in Cabell and Wayne Counties will work with the FASTER WV coach at Unlimited Future in Huntington.
Each coach will work with the client to determine their readiness to proceed with development of their business plan. As a next step, clients will be enrolled in an 8 week entrepreneurship course that meets once a week virtually. This course helps to facilitate the development of information needed for completion of the business plan. Upon completion of the course and the business plan, clients may apply for a loan of up to $50,000 from the FASTER WV loan program.
FASTER WV prioritizes businesses that are in the following sectors, and as such, loans will be made to only those sector based businesses: health and wellness; dependent care services; construction trades, food and beverage manufacturing, small manufacturing; and businesses that support tourism and outdoor recreation. Coaching and entrepreneurial training are available to all sectors. All coaching and entrepreneurial training is provided free of charge.
